- On Friday, police officers in the vicinity of the Tamarind Club restaurant in Josiah’s Bay stopped and searched a vehicle occupied by three people who they said were acting suspiciously. As a result, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Long Bush and a firearm was found, police said. Kareem Scatliffe, 23, of Belle Vue and Allison Scatliffe, 20, of Long Trench were arrested and charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of 12 rounds of explosives.

The number of our fellow residents who are homeless is increasing at an alarming rate. But that is not an indication that Virgin Islanders are unconcerned or uncaring. There are numerous groups and organizations committed to serving the homeless and eradicating homelessness. We have outreach workers and volunteers who deliver hot meals and clean clothing to the homeless; conduct blood sugar screening; monitor blood pressure and ensure (if they so desire) that they have access to medication.
